Part of the Fender Stories Collection, the Nile Rodgers Hitmaker retells the legend of the 1960 Fender Hardtail Stratocaster that Niles picked up second-hand in Miami back in 1973. Nile Rodgers has penned, produced and performed in every corner of the industry and has sold over 500 million records worldwide. Every hit the man touches seems to turn to gold, and every hit was made possible by his Stratocaster - affectionately dubbed The Hitmaker. The Fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Signature Stratocaster comes wrapped up in a deluxe hardshell case embroidered with The Hitmaker logo and includes a certificate of authenticity.

The Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster: Le Freak

The solid alder body of the Fender Nile Rodgers Hitmaker Stratocaster is a touch shallower and features deeper contouring than a standard vintage Strat to match the exact measurements of Rodger's own model, which he dropped off at the shop so it could be measured up. The Olympic White nitrocellulose lacquer also matches the custom paint-job that Nile's sprayed on himself soon after he bought it.

An Authentic Replica

To mimic the sound of the original Hitmaker as convincingly as possible, Fender developed an exclusive set of Hitmaker Nile Rodgers Strat® single-coils, including an RWRP (Reverse Wound Reverse Poliarty) pickup in the middle position to counter hum. This pickup trio guarantees that unmistakable clarity and 'quack' that you can hear back on any of his hits, and as a sweet detail, the output is shaped via a set of white-speed pots, replacing the standard 'witch-hat' Strat pots - just like the genuine Hitmaker. Stable tuning and intonation is provided by a hard-tail string-through-body bridge with period-correct bent steel saddles, while the brass 'mirrored' pickguard completes a tasty authentic picture.

The 1959 C-Profile

The hand-carved C-profile neck recreates the 1959 profile of Nile's model in incredible detail and forms a large part of the magic this guitar weaves. The '1959 C' can be considered an upgrade on the 'Soft-V' that was favoured back in the day, and is generally known now as the 'Oval-C'. Unlike the modern-C profile, the neck retains its shape and width as it reaches the body for an old-school, dependable feel. The one-piece maple neck has then been coated in a buttery satin-gloss, finished with a maple 9.5 inch radiussed fretboard and a set of twenty-one medium-jumbo frets for classic playability, and for good measure, the headstock comes fitted with a set of high-grade Sperzel Locking tuners and the backside has been stamped with a Nile Rodgers & Chic logo.
